Duff McKagan's Loaded 05.19.2009 The Blender Theatre:New York City

Ex-Guns N Roses and Velvet Revolver henchman Duff McKagan brought his traveling rock circus, Loaded, to New York City for a memorable evening of straightforward rock n' roll. Supporting a recently released LP, McKagan navigated through material stretching the course of his career with a culminating 15-minute improvised melody encore with current GN'R guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal.

Exclusively at:

Along with Jeremy Gordon's great photos at the feature, I took a number of my own.

As well as a lot of video

Check out "Wasted Heart"

Here the boys play a smokin' hot version of the classic GNR tune (which Duff co-wrote)
"Dust & Bones". The place went beserk.

Listen in as they play "No More" from their latest album "Sick".

On this one I edited together 3 clips - first where he's talking to the crowd
- then the songs "Attitude" and "So Fine."

Mike Squires rocks the house

The full on Loaded effect

Duff goes shirtless - like one of his heroes, Iggy Pop
-for the "Now I Wanna Be Your Dog" Medley.

Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal joins up with the boys.

And rips some tasty fretwork

Bumblefoot and Squires mesh perfectly.

Jeff Rouse and Duff hold down the rhythm.

And the band rocks on

Sweet setlist

At the end of the show, the band (and some awesome roadcrew dudes)
handed out some of their guitar picks

Duff & Squires

And how they look on the flipside

It doesn't get any more rock & roll than that.
